BEACHWOOD, Ohio (WOIO) - Firefighters are investigating a strong odor detected at the Cleveland Clinic Beachwood Family Health and Surgery Center on Wednesday afternoon.
“We detected a strong odor on one of the floors, so we called the fire department and evacuated that area,” the Cleveland Clinic told 19 News.
Firefighters remained on the scene investigating as of 12:30 p.m.
Earlier today, an odor was noticed inside part of the Cleveland Clinic’s Beachwood campus. Local fire officials were notified immediately and are currently investigating.
Out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to evacuate the entire Beachwood campus. Consequently, patient appointments and procedures at this location are being postponed or relocated as appropriate. Patients will be contacted directly with further information.
The safety of patients, visitors, and caregivers remains the top priority. Additional updates will be shared as they become available.
